Authors Incognito and NaNoWriMo

AI had a strong showing last year in NaNoWriMo and we hope to do the same this year. On this page, you will find links to two tools we use to track our group progress, and how you can sign up. You will also find some links to helpful references when it comes to NaNoWriMo. Enjoy.

Overall Stats

Go to this page to see a general overview of all the AI members and how many words they've written this month. You may need to wait a minute or so for all the lines to update. It tends to get slower the closer to the end of the month we get. All the stats are pulled directly from the NaNoWriMo website.

Daily Stats

Go to this page to see the daily word count for each of the AI members participating. Again, you may need to wait a minute or so for all the lines to update from the NaNoWriMo website.

How to sign up?

If you are a member of AI and would like to participate there are a few simple steps.

1) You need to sign up on the NaNoWriMo website. If you already have an account, then skip to the next step.

2) Login to your NaNoWriMo account. In the address bar, after you login, you will see an address like the following, http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/user/#######. Except you will have a number instead of the #######. Make a note of this number.

3) Send an email to john@fergusonauthors.com. In that email include your NaNoWriMo number from step 2, and your name as you would like to see it on the group list.

How to record your progress?

All your progress is recorded on the NaNoWriMo website. The AI tools pull the information from there. To record your progress, login to the NaNoWriMo account and record your wordcount there.

May words never fail you.

Here's wishing you the best on your NaNoWriMo journey. It won't be easy, but when you are done you will have 50,000 more words. They may not be the best words, but they will by YOUR words and it will be YOUR story. I wish I could find the source of this quote, because it works so well for NaNoWriMo.
"Show me a page of bad writing and I can make it better, but show me a blank page and there's not much I can do."
